Biography

Josh Holt is the 10 News First Meteorologist, Climate Specialist and Weather Presenter for Brisbane, Sydney and Perth. After finishing his undergraduate degree at Sydney University, Josh went on to do television, presenting at the highly acclaimed NIDA in Sydney.

 

Over the last few years, Josh has finished his Postgraduate University study. He studied Climate and Atmospheric Sciences, graduating with a distinction average. He also completed his study in Meteorology through The Bureau of Meteorology Graduate Meteorologist Program.

 

Josh has accumulated thousands of hours of live television experience over 17 years, making regular appearances on Australian screens through the Today Show (Nine Network), Sunrise (Seven Network), and 10 News First.

 

Josh was awarded the Astra Award in 2010 for ‘Best News Coverage’ for the Black Saturday bushfires in Victoria. He was also nominated for ‘Most Outstanding Performance by a Broadcast Journalist’ both in 2010 and 2012.

 

Josh has covered more severe weather events in Australian media than anyone else. He was highly commended within the industry for his on-location work during the Brisbane flood crisis, Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasi in 2011 and his Studio 10 live rolling coverage during Cyclone Debbie in 2017.
