Katie Brown, a rising star in Australian television presenting and a pioneering figure in sports media and broadcasting, is a proud country larrikan currently residing in Brisbane. At 31 years old, she is making waves as Channel 7's Queensland Rugby League Correspondent and the first Roving Reporter for Sunrise. Her infectious spirit, authenticity, and humor captured the attention of senior TV executives, leading to the creation of her role in breakfast television to cover major entertainment, sports, and community events nationwide in 2023.
Inspired by her rural upbringing in Grafton, NSW, where she developed a love for sports and community while playing netball and horseback riding, Brown pursued a career in media after studying journalism. With seven years of experience covering sports in Channel 7 newsrooms across Queensland, she has now transitioned to a national role. In addition to her media work, Brown is a semi-professional athlete for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NSWRL Women’s Premiership, challenging the conventional trajectory of athletes turning to broadcasting.
